Prime Wheel Became the First Company to Benefit From Tijuana´s Municipal 2012 Tax Incentives Program.
Prime Wheel a U.S.-Taiwanese consortium who established operations in Tijuana during 2011, became the first to receive a package of tax incentives from the City of Tijuana from its 2012-2013 program.
Henry Chen, Prime Wheel corporate Vice-president received from Tijuana´s Major Carlos Bustamante this incentive based on the generation of 1000 new positions and plans for future investment in the city.
This incentive program was approved on November of 2011, by the Tijuana City Council, making it part of the City Government regulations for competitiveness and economic development.
The program was created with the purpose to foster manufacturing employment opportunities and new technology driven ventures.
Prime Wheel de México received a check for 1 million 669 thousand pesos (approximetly $123.700 U.S. dlls); the check was received as a symbol of the total savings applied to different fiscal obligations for 2012 and 2013, that includes reductions to land title, construction permits, fire department fees and a reimbursement of 30% of property acquisition tax (ISABI).
Henry Chen, Prime Wheel Vice President mentioned the company has projects to invest over $U.S. 100 million and generate a thousand new positions for Tijuana. He commented “We are very committed with Tijuana’s population, with the city opportunities, with new investment and with its government. We are convinced that Tijuana will allow more growth opportunities to our company we want to thank the City Government for including us in this incentive program”.
These local incentive program provides founding to companies which invest in the acquisition of land or in construction projects for new investment or expansion, this founds are issued between 25%-75% of savings, the amount is allocated in the form of tax deductions for municipal taxes and permits payment.
