Ryerson Opens Steel Supply Center in Tijuana, Mexico

 

Ryerson, a leading processor and distributor of metals in North America and Asia, opened its newest 80,500 square foot facility in Tijuana, making it Ryerson’s second location in Mexico. The facility is located at El Florido Industrial park, one of the largest  industrial parks in the Tijuana Industrial area.

This new service center represents an investment of 7 million dollars and is one of the largest in Baja California region, its strategic location will allow the company to better meet the needs of their customers in the Tijuana region and reach other border regions in the United States, as well as having access to Ensenada and Long Beach ports.  It currently employs 20 people and expects to grow to 50 within the next three years.

The new center has capability to supply to Tijuana industrial sectors as aerospace, electronics and automotive a wide range of products including bars, tubing, sheets, coils and plates in carbon, aluminum and stainless steel. Processing capabilities include cut-to- length, laser fabrication and cutting equipment. The facility will provide same-day delivery and same day will call service. Along with the warehouse operations, a local sales team will be on site.

Ryerson Tijuana´s center is actually preparing itself to obtain the AS9120 certification. This standard applies for organizations and suppliers that procure
parts for the Aerospace industry.
